Hi!
I just spent a few days in San Francisco and Portland. It was a great time…I was able to have drinks and a delicious dinner with my bff Miki at Coqueta restaurant in SF (where she bartends and makes the best drinks!) and also catch two live shows of the insane punk/hiphop/balladic band, Mangchi.
My boyfriend Eddie is the DJ/producer of the band and I adore all the other members of Mangchi, so it was awesome spending time with them and seeing them live. And since I’m their #1 fan (well, maybe #2 after Arthur) I decided to transform my plain pink bomber jacket into a Mangchi fan jacket simply by applying some iron-on patches.
Iron-on patches are awesome, but I had a hard time getting the glue to adhere to the polyester. Probably would have been no problem on a cotton tee or hoodie, but the jacket just didn’t take it well. I was also afraid to hold the iron over the patch too long because I was afraid the material might burn.
Thanks so much for reading!
Jacket :: Fashion Nova (I have three bombers from them and I love them all!)
Flannel :: Forever 21 (similar)
Tee :: Huge thanks to Upper Playground
Jeans :: Frame Denim (I live in these jeans)
Shoes :: Nike
Bag :: Hugs and thanks to Defuria
And biggest thanks to Mangchi! See them live on their final West Coast tour, happening NOW!
I really like how you transformed your jacket! It looks so easy and simple! Using iron on patches can be annoying though because I always get worried that they won’t stick on for long. But I like your idea of using pins. That definitely adds a nice touch
